Comments keep project communication directly connected to the tasks and decisions they relate to. Instead of searching through scattered Slack threads or messages, your team can find discussions, decisions, and updates directly within the relevant task or project. Every comment is timestamped and associated with its task or project for easy reference.
Adding a comment
Open any task and navigate to the Activity section at the bottom of the task details.
Enter your message in the comment box and press Enter to post. Use Shift + Enter to add a new line without submitting the comment.
Comments support basic Markdown formatting, including:
- Bold text
- Italic text
Inline code- Bullet lists
Mentioning a Teammate
Use @followed by a teammate's name to bring them into a conversation. As you type, TaskChecker displays matching workspace members. Select the appropriate person to add the mention.
Mentioned teammates receive an in-app notification and, when enabled, an email notification or digest.
Available mentions include:
- @name Notifies a specific teammate.
- @teamNotifies all members of the current project's team.
- @here Notifies members who are currently active in the workspace.
Mentions make it easy to direct questions, request feedback, or assign attention without creating a separate conversation.
Editing and deleting comments
To manage your own comment, hover over it to reveal the Edit and Delete options.
Edited comments display an Edited label, providing transparency when a message has been updated.
Project administrators can delete comments from any member when necessary.
Reactions
Use emoji reactions to acknowledge or respond to a comment without adding another message to the conversation.
Select the emoji icon on a comment to add a reaction. Hover over a reaction count to see which team members have reacted.
Reactions are useful for quick acknowledgements such as confirming that you've seen an update, agreeing with a decision, or recognising completed work.
The Mentions inbox
The Mentions tab in the notification panel brings together every comment where you have been @mentioned across your projects.
This gives you a central place to review conversations that require your attention, even when you're working across multiple boards.
You can:
- Mark individual mentions as read.
- Use Mark all read to clear your pending mentions.
With comments, mentions, and reactions in one place, TaskChecker keeps team communication organised, contextual, and connected to the work.
