Campfire is a persistent group chat available within each project. It provides a dedicated space for conversations that do not belong to a specific task, such as daily check-ins, quick questions, team updates, and informal project discussions.
Real-Time Communication
Campfire is designed for real-time collaboration. Messages appear instantly for team members who are online, with no page refresh or manual polling required.
Powered by Socket.IO, Campfire provides a responsive chat experience that keeps project communication moving without interruptions.
Who Can Access Campfire
Campfire is scoped to the project, so conversations remain visible only to members who have access to that project.
- Project Members - Can view and participate in Campfire conversations.
- Project Viewers - Can view messages but cannot post.
- Non-project members- Cannot access the project's Campfire room.
This keeps project discussions focused and ensures that conversations are visible only to the appropriate team members.
Presence
Campfire provides real-time presence indicators to help you see who is currently available.
A green status indicatornext to a teammate's avatar shows that they are currently online and active within the project.
This makes it easier to know when a teammate is available for a quick question or discussion.
Message History
Campfire maintains the complete conversation history for the project. Scroll through previous messages to revisit discussions, decisions, updates, and context from earlier stages of the project.
There is no automatic retention limit, so your team's conversations remain available throughout the project's lifecycle.
Keep Project Communication in One Place
Use Campfire for quick conversations and team-wide communication, while keeping task-specific discussions within task comments. This separation helps your team maintain context without cluttering either workspace.
